Psalm 32:8
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. “
Before even starting this post, I was planning on typing a post on fasting and prayer because I THOUGHT. Keywords, I THOUGHT (Should I even finish the sentence?). However, God had other plans and placed this message on my heart on Monday morning on my way to work: Getting Lost. This topic gave me great joy while typing. Getting Lost.
When I first started my spiritual journey in Christ Jesus, my main focus, still now, was growing near to Him. Basically getting lost in Him. The more I grew spiritually and closer to Jesus, the more I learned about myself and my purpose in life. The more in love I became with myself, the more I acquired the desire to share and show others the source of self-love. I needed someone, anyone to feel this love I have found.
Acts 1:8 says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” I became a witness of God. I sought, knocked on the door (Matthew 7:7), received water, drank it, got lost in the word, and became a witness of God. Did you catch that? Let me give it to you again just in case. I sought, knocked on the door, received water, drank it, got lost in the word, and became a witness of God. If that’s not beautiful, I do not know what is.
Let’s go a bit in the scripture. In the book of John, chapter 4, Jesus is in Samaria, sitting by Jacob’s well. When a Samaritan woman comes by to fetch water and during the interaction between Jesus and Samaritan woman. Jesus said to the Samaritan woman, “but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:14). After the interaction between the Samaritan woman and Jesus, she became a fountain of life and disclosed her testimony to the people in town, which caused many Samaritans to believe in Jesus, the Messiah. Did you catch that? The Samaritan woman sought, received water, drank it, got lost in the word and became a witness of God. I love it!
What is Getting Lost?
Getting Lost for me was returning to the source. The one who told me that all things are possible through him. The one who during the lowest part of my life did not forsake me nor left me, even when I turned my back on Him. God, he is my source and solution to my everything. He said, “I will instruct you, teach you, and counsel you with love in the way you should go.” There’s the word again, LOVE. Getting lost in God is learning to love yourself, seeing yourself the way he sees you, not the way people see you, but God sees you. And learning to love yourself in God, helps you to love others.
I want to get soo Lost in God that when someone is looking for me they have to get in contact with Jesus. Lost where the fountain of life flowing through me from Jesus is always pure and clean. Because who wants to drink from a contaminated fountain?
Prayer:
I pray the love of God will continuously be with you and keep you. The one whose love reaches the heavens gives you joy and love. May he help you get lost in him and find everything you’re looking for, in him and more. And may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen!
